We started the day at around 7.45am, well more like i started the day at 7.45am, coz the other 2 were late! and so when geok finally arrived, we bubble wrapped our paddles, and were on our way...
First leg was from Singapore to Manila. The whole 3.5 hours felt like being packed into a sbs bus coz the seats were sooooo cramp. Any longer than that and i would probably have had to be wheeled out of the plane.
Transit in Manlia airport was next. The 3 (geok, alicia and i) of us sat at a coffee place for some drinks. Little did we know that this was to be our first experience of the Filipino taste for food. Coz the drinks we ordered were soooo super sweet. Even geok who never wastes food was defeated by her coffee and left half a cupful for the trash.
After about a 2 hour transit, it's goodbye Manila and on our way to Kalibo, about 50 mins away...
Kalibo's a really small airport, with a teeny-weeny runway enough for just 1 plane to take off. so at any 1 time, there can only be 2 planes. 1 landing and 1 taking off.
At Kalibo airport, we find the world's fastest conveyor belt. The conveyor belt's probably only about 25m long, snaking it's way through a good part of the 'arrival hall'. And so you either had to chase after your luggage, which was probably not a good idea since the whole world's gonna be cramped there waiting for theirs as well, or just wait for it to zip by again.
Exiting from the airport, the next leg was the long 1.5 hour bus ride to the beach. This bus was impressive. Spanking new, with nice comfy seats and wide leg room.... as well as an in-built tv screen!
1.5 hours later, with a really full bladder, we get to the beach.... (no pics from here on, coz for some strange reason, the sun sets really early in Philippines, 6pm and it starts to get dark, so can't really take pics after the sun sets)
i would have loved to go use the comfort room (yes, that's what they call the little-girl's-room in Philippines), but they say it's only a 20 min journey to the resort, so i decided not to then.
10 mins on the boat and we reach the island... then it's another 10 minute bus ride to the resort...
12 hours after i reached Changi Airport to start my journey, i was finally at Boracay!!!!

We were kinda late, and the party for the opening-ceremony was already in full swing, with buffet tables and a band performing on the beach... turns out the buffet by the beach was just the appitizer, coz shortly after, we were whizzed away to an enclosed area for proper dinner... woot!
After dinner, the ang mohs in the team proceed to go bar hopping (the night before the race!! aiyoh, if it were the nus team ah, they'd so be dragged to be lined-up for the firing squad lah)

Oh and guess who was on TV that night!!! (no jacuzzi in our rooms though, but our resort has fantastic cable tv with like 24482394 channels) =)
